Ah, UNIVERSAL is just the name of a company that makes ballasts. There is no such thing as a universal ballast- one that works with any lamp.

WHY are we giving advice to DIYers???

Why not just by the LoA fixture that Home Depot sells, seeing as how the bulb you purchased is a replacement for the Flourex fixtures?

And if he's so bent on using this particular bulb, he can always buy said fixture, strip the ballast and incorporate it into whatever project he's using.

I hope Danny's not building something that's going into a third party's home....he could be liable if there are problems, correct?
