blamed the trade agreements like NAFTA that siphon off jobs to countries with lower wages.

question why people protest the WTO , and you'll find that many trade agreements and/or tariffs are in reality pawns to bigger foriegn policy issues...

A few years ago, our local newspaper ran a series titled "Who Stole the American Dream".
If anyone thinks that one political party favors one group of people any more than on a very superficial level (you know...Democrats for unions and working stiffs, Republicans for "conservative values" and free markteers) reading this article would make you realize that the only group that politicians really care about are politicians.

The least thing Square D could do is offer relocation for whoever is willing to move to Monterrey.

I'd say boycott companies that do this sort of junk - leaving their employees in the lurch. But unfortunately, most of the times you don't have a choice. It's either foreign-made or nothing.

Redsy,
unbridled corporism wears no particular political stripe, nor does it care if the english directions are dead last in any given product...

Even though Davis Bacon numbers are low most of the times, I wonder if it were mandated as far as NAFTA participation was concerned, if there would be a difference in industry leaving.

We could regulate this.

Misc edits to remain non-political.

A touchy subject here.
Looks like time to close out before we go somewhere we don't really want to go.
