I was wondering why, when the definition of ampacity is " the continuous current that a conductor can carry without exceeding its temperature rating (as listed in 310.16) do you still have to increase that ampacity 125% for a continuous load. Is the word "continuous" in the definition of ampacity not the same a "continuous " in continuous load?

I could be wrong (often am) but I thought the 125% was primarily factored in for the OCP. Most OCPs are not rated for continuous use at 100%. As far as I know, as long as the rules for all other variables (such as #CCC, amb. temp, termination rating, OCP, etc.) are adhered to, conductors CAN be used at 100% of their capacity for an indefinite period of time. Am I wrong again?
