I saw this yesterday, too. So incredibly sad to lose a life.

seeks,
This certainly sounds strange!.
With respect to the local Authorities, it was stated that 4 tests were done, but it does not say which tests were done.
Having investigated Electrocutions before, I would like to know WHO performed the said tests, if they were Qualified to perform such tests and also if these tests were referenced to any local Earth point.
Lamp-posts are, by thier own virtue, Earthed(Grounded), I would be looking at the fence!. [Linked Image]

The story said the boy was squeezing between the light pole base and the fence. There must be some step and touch potential there. Amazing that his friend didnt get killed also. Trumpy, I'm with you. I would like to know who is investigating. There must be a HUGE liability involved.

I live in Columbus and I can't imagine why they can't figure out what happened. Is there really wiring any where near or around that bridge that is that obscure and unknown to everyone in the city?

I don't know - I think someone is trying to cover their ass and getting away with it too...

Actually, I gotta take that back..I don't know enough to make that judgement...

Could it be that the kid was dropping rocks in the river in the late afternoon (the article didn't say what time of day it happened) and when it started getting dark a photocell or timer kicked in turning the power on to the lights? And thus the kid suddenly gets zapped? And the city workers checked the bridge during the daytime when the photocell has the lights off and find no voltage? Maybe a fault in the wiring downstream of the photocell (either a frayed wire in the pole, or maybe a fault in the ballast of the streetlight itself)?
