I need to purchase a megger for checking busduct, feeders, etc... what should I purchase?

We just bought a Fluke 1520 at work and we absolutely love it. It has three output voltages, measures AC/DC volts, has a low ohms function for measuring regular resistence and a last reading memory. The display is digital with an analog scale. Compared to the old hand cranked Amprobe we were using, the difference is night and day.

They ain't cheap though. I think we paid $560 for this model.

AVO Biddle Megger cat #250260. Can't be beat, and price is right. No crank, push button, two scales.

Personally, I would go for an AVO Megger,
they more or less invented the Insulation-Resistance Tester (Electronic one, at least).
I personally would not bother with one that has a voltage range on it, unless you don't already own a good voltage tester.

Go with the Biddle. They invented the crank ones too.
