Here is one totally offbeat:
As far as I know, Cuba follows the North American standards for electric wiring.
Domestic receptacles are NEMA 5-15 for 15-Amp/125 volts and are the same style used in the USA. I've only seen this in photos in various picture books about old houses in Havana.
However, with the USA trade restrictions towards Cuba, where do people buy replacement wiring devices like switches, receptacles, plugs, etc.?
Who is importing the stuff there? I wonder if it goes by way of Mexico, China or Canada - most of these devices are made in Mexico and China for USA companies anyway so it would make sense if they did come from there.
Has anyone from here visited Cuba (or is anyone here in Cuba) and can comment? I'm curious. Thanks.
