By my Rain Gauge (Orange Bucket) we got 10 inches last night. Garage took on water again. Unfortunately the previous owner built the detached garage (himself) on the lowest part of the property and has a driveway that slopes right into it.

I've put in some drainage around it that normally helps, but not always. mad tired

Judging by the dry driveway, and a few drops on my car, we may have seen about 1/10" last night in Brick.

Closer 'up' towards your area, it was bad, based on the traffic reports I heard last night.

I'm 100ft above sea level. A lot of other areas were under water.

We haven't had a significant rain here since Debby.
I really should be trying to find the problem tripping a GFCI when we get one of those big rain events but it isn't anything obvious. I have looked the boxes I suspected and didn't find anything suspicious. I have another underground circuit I just abandoned for the same problem. I think there may be a small nick in the wire in the pipe or something. I was able to feed it from another direction and I just gave up on that span.

That’s a tough situation, especially with all that rain. It might help to add more drainage or even consider installing a sump pump to manage the water better. You could also look into regrading the driveway to redirect water away from the garage. Rest up—dealing with water issues is exhausting!

Thanks Jam,

I did have the driveway regraded some years back. Everything I've done has helped some because when I moved it there was up to 3 inches across the garage, now it's mostly a few little puddles here and there when it happens. This time it was worse, but it was an unusual event. I plan on putting in another small dry-well when I get a chance.
