Depends.
Is it 3-phase rated?
is it dual rated 50/60 hertz?
Is it 208-220 volt rated or a NEMA rated motor?
What do the legitimate manufacturers installation instructions say?
If you do not understand any of these questions, hire an electrician or an engineer.
Personally, I would avoid a Chinese made motor in almost all cases as they often are not properly built, and unless approved by a NRTL in a legit manner, I would run away from using the motor. I have seen to many items passed off as one thing yet never even coming close to the specs that were claimed. Be very wary.

I won't condemn everything from China quality wise (politics are a separate matter best dealt with in another forum). I do agree if something doesn't have a valid NRTL listing it is suspect but China builds to the price point western buyers demand and that is where you are trading quality for price. This all does remind me of post WWII Japan. In the 50s and early 60s, Japan had a reputation for cheap, unreliable junk. Then Sony, Honda, Toyota and Yamaha came along and ate our lunch, using quality and reliability as their selling point but that "cheap" thing disappeared.

I agree Greg and now Japan is known for quality, quite a turnabout. My warning was against non-NRTL listed items (unfortunate placement of the word "and").

Yup. China is still hitting a price point with their low end products and they are not listed. There is also an issue with counterfeit listings. Basically if the prices seems too good to be true, it probably is.
