Curious,
How many of you have the electronic version of the NEC??
I just got a copy a couple of days ago ('99, as that's what our CA Code is based upon), and I love the features!

I have the '02 version. I don't really use it much. I am used to the book and find it easier to use.

I use both the electronic and hard copies (2002). Both have their uses.

It is great to be able to open the hard copy directly to the area I want and read and is much more comfortable to use. It shows it's worth when you want to jump between references (fingers are much better than electronic bookmarks especially when you are done with them).

The electronic is great for out in the field (I always have the laptop and it cuts down on weight) also if I can't quite remember where something is the electronic copy is like Ferm's Fast Finder on steriods.

I am glad that I can have both.

Can referenced Articles be jumped to via Hypertext?

That would be another cool thing (IMO).

Also, what is the Application used to view/print documents or tweek text?
(Acrobat, Word, Excel, Etc.)

I'm thinking of getting the NEC CD-ROM so I can paste / OLE text from certain articles into any necessary documents or plan pages (ACAD) - which is done currently via punching the QWERTY! Man, that would be SOOOOOOO much nicer!
Importing text into the AutoCAD multiline text editor keeps the Carpal Tunnel problems in my wrists down drammatically!!! [Linked Image]

Another reason to get the CD version is scaling up text (font) sizes for easier reading is much easier via an application, as opposed to my current method of Magnifying Glasses!!! (only way I know of to raise the point size of fonts on the hard copy printed version!)

Hypertext and either .PDF or .DOC files would be nice.
