Just recieved a copy of the 2018 CEC the other day at work. I inquired if we code get a copy of the 2018 Code Explained to go with. Lot of really good information that sheds light on certain code rules. Anybody else typically buy both?

In Ontario we use the OESC and the new version won't be out until 2019. Then I'll take a course from the ESA to learn the changes.
So, anything interesting that I have to look forward to?

I used to buy the NEC "handbook" essentially what you are talking about but I haven't had one for several cycles. I still refer to it on things that haven't changed tho.

Curious as to why?

I found that certain code rules were explained in far greater detail and some others included examples of calculations, etc.

I thought Section 10 was supposed to have a lot of changes. A first glance I didn't notice anything exceptional. I believe all changes have a triangle symbol next them? I will look again when I'm back at work (currently taking some vacation time).
