This particular part of the world has major NSA and Google networks supplied by PG&E.

So, this may be an act sponsored by a foreign power, or by some pretty sophisticated anarchists.

It is just another reason why upper middle class homeowners ought to have back-up generator power.

It's a very scary read, BTW.

^^^^ More speculation on the same topic.

Beyond the above, the digital meters now being installed across America are WIDE OPEN to hackers. These devices were not endowed with any security protocols.

Any hacker worth his salt can kill power to any load -- at a whim -- without even touching the meter!

All of these meters have to be replaced ASAP. From what I gather, they don't have any provision to have security installed as a software patch.

Hackers have direct access to the lowest level of coding.

This is yet ANOTHER reason why informed homeowners should want to have back-up power.

Generac is pitching units @ $5,000 able to carry a whole house -- with some limits.

If I was reading a good mystery novel I would suspect some sort of heist setup to kill the alarms to 911 etc.
