This is the last year for the E series Ford van.
It will be replaced with the Transit in 2014.
Here is a link to an article with pictures of the new van -
Ford replaces Econoline with Transit in 2014

E350 long wheelbase vans were my choice. Had one diesel , rest were all gas. Workhorses, yes; reliable, yes; gas guzzlers, yes. Sad to see them go!

That said, I see a lot of ECs going for the Sprinters, mostly the Dodge, a few Mercedes. One EC has something that looks like a Transit, but it's badgeless & wrapped.

I had 2 econolines, a long bed and a stretch.

They were both work horses.

They got 13 mpg, going fast, going slow, empty, loaded down to the snubbers or pulling my boat ... 13

The brand badging depends on what year it is, they were put together from knockdown kits and badged Dodge, Freightliner & Mercedes depending on the year.

I read that whole article and was hugely dissapointed they did not mention available engines, was hoping to see a diesel option.

I see that is an old article, and there is a 5 cyl diesel option.
