Could I have some opinions on this photo of a poor grounding job and some suggestions on correcting? Any code violations except subject to physical damage and workmanlike manner.
It looks like their measurements were off. It seems like they wanted to pop up right by the beam in order to use it for grounding. Maybe what they should do is abandon the wire going down and trying to pick it up somewhere else. (If possible)
If they can't do that, they should have saw cut the concrete and put the wire in/under the concrete.
It probably meets code but it looks like someone will trip over it.
I think I would weld a piece of flat stock from the base of the steel support along the floor over to the wall, then another short piece up the wall or over to where the GEC emerges and tap it there for a lug.
It's still hard to tell in the picture why they did it that way. Looks like two GECs emerging from the slab, is that correct?
Hi, There is a piece of rebar sticking out of the hole. They missed the steel and ran schedule 80 over to bug onto the steel. it is in the walkway and we do not want to buy it...but contractor refuses to fix. I suggested core drilling down to rebar and bugging on there..
poor quality work for sure..
it is coming up through the slab and a nipple from a 4/0 ground...the green is #2.
