I have a question: Stand by generators. I have 3 models in front of me to look at
Kohler model 30RZG Baldor IGLC35N-G MTU Onsite Energy Model 40PGS6NL
Did anybody have any problems with any of the above models? I know I can't really ask"Which is the best?" However I am just wondering if someone knew of a recall or bad experience with any of the above.
It could just be a generic answer like, I like #? best because I have used it more and had no problems.
Thanks for any help.

Harold: #1 on your list. Local service provided by Cooper (Statewide; heavy in NNJ)
Brand used at the '05 PGA Championship; not standbys, but same brand.
I had one brand of standby (resi/propane fueled) that was a real royal PITA.

Kohler propane or natural gas seems to be the most common for folks around here who don't just have a skid/wheel mount machine.

I appreciate the answers, I inspect these generators, but I really don't have any first hand experience with them. I was just wondering if anyone heard of a recall or a bad model out there. For example, I never really heard of MTU Generators. I am sure they are all good, it just depends on the people who service them and how good their respond time is.
Thanks

Try a search on "generator recall". There are a bunch of them. Some are fairly serious problems. Some are just CPSC hype and hysteria.

I have Cummins/Onan and love it! Never a problem and use 5+ timesevery year in the past 3 years. Just needed to change oil and keep battery charged.

Thanks for the replies. If was the Twp. that I live in that was asking. They need to get a new generator for the town hall. The administrator asked me for my opinions.
