I suppose the only complaint might be that since you didn't need "tools" to get in it you were encouraging unqualified people to look around.

The more I think about it the more I want to do it on my panels. I was careful to be sure I only used the regular 10-32 type screws (not the double speed ones) so I could just swap them out with 3/4" hex heads run from from the inside and knurled nuts.

There is no standard other than NFPA 70E for the incident that occured as related in the thread.

70E and the requirements set forth in the document would have most likely precluded the individual from ever removing the screws from the panel cover.

if he is an employee, then OSHA, which references 70E, would apply to the individual we are discussing.

I have a nomex suit that I use ANY time I get into an electrical panel. It is my company's policy. Anything can happen inside. Remember the handyman may have been in there.
