I have a hand full of X10 modules I have collected over the years and one "console". I never really used them for anything. This year I decided to plug them into all the various Christmas stuff my wife has scattered around inside the house. It really did work. Before she was plugging and unplugging stuff in several different places, now it is all on one X10 address. Magic!

If they make 3r stuff this would be good outside too I guess but I have a timer for that now.

I finally put in a timer for my permanent outside lights that I also have some Christmas lights hooked up to.

I totally agree, next year I'm going X-10 all around!!!
I'll probably start with the permanent lighting during the year and get a bunch of plug-in modules come November.

I had a device style timer in a 1900 box with a GFCI for my outside Xmas lights but when that went bad I put a regular 30a intermatic gear motor style timer there for the lights. Lets see that one blow. It is easier for me to program too. Just screw in 2 "trippers" or take them out for the rest of the year so I have "all the time" power. The device style was load powered so it reset if you didn't have any load.
