My friend found this in the garage of a house he was painting. I guess someone thought it was too much trouble to go to a hardware store/(shudder) Home Desperate and spend a couple of bucks to do the job right. (the home owner can be seen ambling towards the garage) I'll be heading there shortly to rectify this problem.

I will never understand why people spend more time and money to do things wrong rather than going to the supply house and get the right parts and be done with it. Rod

Looks like the same person that did the original electrical work also attempted the original painting as well.

Whats the problem? Hit the switch and it's off.

Fix the paint and none will notice.

Seeing all that black tape slapped all over that connector makes me think that the body of the connector might be hot.

Pity, the care they give the landscaping doesn't extend to the electrical as well. Close the garage door and it will go away...
