John : they did change in the code i think it was a code cycle or two back they did add to this and it do work pretty good with this device

Thanks for the replies, guys, it answered my questions and I definitely learned something new. Thanks LK also for the link to the "fireshield" site. I had no idea a simple thing like a cord and plug could get so complicated nowadays!
