For all you Georgia contractors. Thought this was interesting. Any comments? I don't know what I think about this yet. Does anyone know who might be lobbying this besides the IBEW?

I don't know who's behind it. I'm an IEC member and their sources say it is not the IBEW. The IEC opposes this bill. I'm not staunchly opposed to some sort of Journeyman card, but I don't want it to get like it is in some states. In the areas of Georgia where EC's are licensed (most of the state) the current system works fine. There are some EC's who don't properly supervise their jobs and they should be dealt with, but for the most part quality, code compliant work is being done, so no need for further regulation.

After reading the bill, I think it is the state/ Secretary of State. It seems to be geared to raise fees.
