We have two competing YP directories here as well. One is cheap, and the other one wants your first born for a small ad. I went as large as you can go in both books which is double trucks in one, and full page in the cheaper one. We gapped both numbers and have both lines tacked using StandardCall. We then track each in bound call and weekly match our revenue produced to each ad we have out, not just these two. I can email the you the report I have produced weekly and monthly on the effectiveness of the two ads.

Send me an email to jamie@electricservicetech.com and I'll send you some of our reports that track our YP advertising, assuming your not operating in my back yard.
I'm embarrassed that you went to our web site. It is on my list of things to do, I just haven't got to it yet. We will be revising it shortly with professional help I did that on my own, and I think it shows. Sorry.

I'm confused about why calls not in your database would be excluded in the report. This would be new clients, exactly what I'm paying to attract. It would seem more telling to exclude the calls in your database since they weren't attracted by your ad.
Was December a better than average month because of the ice storm?
We run those reports at month end. So, if we captured the "new caller from the ad", they will be in our database.
December was a much better month because of the ice storm. What is odd about the volume generated by those ads is the amounts are less than 1/3 of our total revenue. The other 2/3 is either repeat/referral business, or coming in off of a different ad or marketing campaign.
