I would like to learn more about energymanagement, I am wondering if anyone knows of some good educational websites? I have looked at FEMA and some others. I am looking at some grants available for our customers who change from t12 to t8s etc. Does anyone know about software available to analyze small to medium commercial buildings power usage?

We inquired with Siemens, and got very little response. Thank you for the info, I will check out the website.

There are some required items that need to be covered... (I took a peek, and it looks like Washingtons are simular to California's Title 24. Which I find interesting.)

(Take a look at the lighting motors sections starting at page 116)

For lighting controls, there are many...

As for monitoring thats out of my realm....

Buck, what are you looking to get into?

Energy management just doesn't deal with lighting, and have you seen the new t-5 fixtures? Them are the bomb....

There are hosts of "hybrid" fluro combinations of lighting for low and high bay fixtures out there. I don't know how well they work though.

I have also seen replacement compact fluro bulbs made for 400w parking lot lights, but once again, I haven't tried them out yet.

This is an area we are exploring at the time. Currently, we do TIs and commercial build outs. Another contractor in the area was telling me about going into commercial tennis clubs and fitness clubs and doing a power usage analysis, then submiting a proposal to the power company (who is offering grants up to 200,000).

I am just wondering if anyone reading this has done one of these propsals before? The power company is asking for energy savings calculations for each measure: motor drives, lighting controls and lighting etc. I am wondering about software or a spreadsheet program or a book that would aid in this.
