Curious as to what's happening with the tamper resistant receptacle requirement for dwellings. Any news on the subject?

It is still in the draft, lets see what the TCC does after the comments are read.

Greg,

Not for nothing, but do really need tamper proof receptacles? We all know that it is a great idea, but...

I agree 100% Harold ... the proposed change is not needed, and exceeds the 'minimum standard' mandate of the NEC.

As I saw on this board before, just look in the beginning of the NEC and see who sits on a lot of those code making panels. Many times the sales reps. get things passed only for their own cause. Our code is to try and make our life safer but there are still "dumb" people out there who will still get them self's hurt. Just look at the "Darwin" awards that go around the net every now and then.
