Now, I'm not looking to cause a sensation here, but.
Is the safety message being delivered in the wrong way these days?.
Instead of an "In Your Face, you shall not do this or that" message, should we be telling people some alternative ways to effect Safe outcomes?.
Sorry, I haven't lost the plot, but humans being like they are, turn-off from being told constantly what they are and aren't allowed to do and go thier own way anyway.
Prisons are a good example of this.
But, should there be a shift in the way we think, as Safety people?
What do you guys think?.

There isn't a method that always works for all people. Look at drinking and driving, as an example. "Mothers against Drunk Drivers", advertising, large fines, jail, a criminal record, and sometimes loss of employment. What more could be done? I don't think "please" would work.
