I got a healthy raise today , negotiated a few weeks ago,but,just before the bossman signed my check he informed me that along with the new position comes no OT. Believe me I'm up for the challenge, but I don't know if I like Celery. What do y'all think?
One major consideration is your degree of leverage—what sort of current and foreseeable financial commitments do you have? And, do you need more time to spend with your wife and kids? What are these worth to you?
Voltron, I've been on both sides of this fence. I think that hourly has worked out better for me.......I like getting paid for my overtime. Make sure that the fringes and the raise more than compensate for the loss of OT. Otherwise you really didn't get a raise.
