In addition to the problem with the SO cord, it looks like that 1/2" coupling is missing a set screw.

Had they put the extra length of pipe on this installation they would have been forced to derate the conductors, and that would have totally fouled up a code compliant installation. And that other wire entering the two inch conduit dosen't have conduit on it and it was installed by a real electrician.
