What sort of ceiling is that?.
I was thinking sort of Lath and plaster, but there doesn't appear to be any plaster.
Shouldn't this be "rocked" over?

Looks like standard industrial grating forming a floor for a level above. The painted pipes and beams peg this as an industrial environment

Seems like the motor is just dangling from a strap made up of cloth.

And yes, it definitely looks like a shop of some sort.

This picture was taken in the bathroom for a large boiler room for a mall. The ceiling is open metal grate for a mezzanine above. The fan is hanging by a metal strap with lots of dust on it. It is also hanging over the toilet.

Ah That makes sense now ! Its meant to keep the toilet user cool on hot days ! Is there a thermostat or is it "User Actuated" [Linked Image]
