The first I came across as I followed a cord around the room...it went through the boiler. I tried to take the picture so you could see the flames. It is a little fuzzy, but you can see the cord running through the boiler.

The forth picture shows how (not) to tuck away the extra cord, for a kitchen undercabinet clock radio. Notice the staples securing the cord inside the cabinet.
the person the installed that radio obviosly didn't read the instructions, or even look at the back of the radio. if they had, they would have noticed that the radio has a place on the back to wrap the extra cord!
i just installed the exact same radio in my kitchen
im going to guess the cord goes from the outlet on the lower left to the condensate pump on the lower right. even though it looks bad, i doubt the cord is exposed to high temperatures at all, especially since this is an induced draft furnace
