As of this date it is still uncertain as to when the CEC 20th edition might become code in BC. I have also not heard about the status of any Provincial amendments being ready or nearly ready. It is usually September that the code is enacted but the BC Legislature has said they may not hold a summer session, so it could be even later.

Weird. I just wrote my contractor's exam here on Nov. 27 and it was still the 2002 Code.

I was warned that if I didn't write before year-end, there may be a drought in 2007 where nobody will be able to schedule to write until they make up a 2006 Code exam.

I have on my desk a letter from BCSA and it says the minister can at the earliest sign the legislation early Feb with a possible adoption date of Feb 15, 2006.

Just got a letter from Crown Publications saying the will no longer be providing updates and bulletins . The safety Site will be providing this info. Checked the site today I wonder if they will flag anything thats new and Added and when do we get the amendments.

There is a transition period from Feb 15 to April 15 where you can obtain permits using either the 2002 or 2006 codes. As of April 15 the new 2006 code is in full effect. The directive with ammendments is available here: http://www.safetyauthority.ca/files...20of%202006%20BC%20Electrical%20Code.pdf
