hello

i am an english electriacian who has just moved to vancouver and would like to continue electrifiying things here are my english qualifications any help at all and where should my search begin for a canadian or BC certificate. any help would be much appreciated.

To work as an electrician in BC, you will need a BC trades qualification in electrical. Your english trades papers will allow you to challenge the exam here, I recommend that you take a code course as the terminology and wire sizes are different. Courses are available through BCIT., University College of the Fraser Valley, Surrey school district.

there is a good doc I found called the 'canadian code course' that the guy from the learning pit wrote up ..it is based on the 2002 code which is what I wrote my exam on ....I could email it if you like?

that would be great. i was thinking ofd sitting the code course before doing the challenge exam, so any extra info would be usefull, as i have to wait till the fall term now.
