I just sat in on a 'Round Table' meeting this week with representatives from our local associations and some Town, County and State people. I heard basically the same thing.
BTW, we already have some areas referencing the 2005 NEC (as long as it is more restrictive than the NYS Residential/1999 NEC). That's pretty confusing in itself.
