I erred on this one. The utility wants to install a pad mounted transformer on a 48" by 56" pad in the back yard. Not good. My option is to install a meter ahead of my own transformer in the basement. I couldn't seperately meter the units but the heat and hot water are central so it shouldn't be a big deal. Not the best solution but cheaper and more doable.
