I would charge T&M. If your area is anything like mine, the 12-2 costs $80.00 more per thou than it did 10 days ago. Keep that in mind. Since March I have held to a new policy for new homw wiring. If my bid is accepted, you need to sign a contract with me and pay a deposit of 30% of the job within 5 days for me to hold to the quoted price. This allows me to go right out and purchase the romex needed for the job. Margins in residential work are already too slim to try and cover in an estimate and still be competitive. If I had wired a house 2 weeks ago with $275.00 per thou 12-2 I would be replacing it with $355.00 per thou 12-2 today. I'm not willing to eat that amount.
