I often find that the customer/contractor supplied fittings are not only sometimes of poor quality but that they've also paid way over the odds for them.
Case in point: A twin (duplex) outlet, very cheap & nasty construction that a customer bought at the local DIY store for £6 (about $9). I buy better quality units for just £2.
