I have seen big generators that are connected in parallel synced by connecting a light bulb between them. When the bulb stops flashing, the generators are in sync (phase). My question is how are the generators kept in sync. Unless both generators run at EXACTLY the same speed, the generators will soon get out of phase. I've seen this trick performed before electronic speed governors were available.
