Here are some pics of my own house.

After an injury, I stopped doing installations and now strictly do computer forensic analysis for LE agencies and provide web and mail hosting. (all of the gear is in the basement of my house(

I pre-wired it, but had to move all of the service equipment midway right before completion. I also installed a manual transfer switch with separate load center to use with my gasoline powered Honda 8kw generator.

I finally got tired of wheeling out the genset and starting it in the rain, so I went the route of a buying an inexpensive Generac Guardian w/ a bundled ATS just a few months ago.

I would have done most of the extra work w/ EMT, but have ruptured/herniated 4 discs (while performing training for my volunteer fire dept) since we built the house, so I was lucky just to get this job done at all.

We also ran a ton of cat5-e cable and RG6 quad sheilded coax during the pre-wire.
(structured cabling + security system + fire alarm cabling + environmental controls = 155,000' of wire !)

BTW: I ran carlon non-metalic flex (blue corrugated stuff) from each and every "structured wiring" box down to the basement and up to the attic. (and ran the actual cabling ALONGSIDE the carlon nm flex. (leaving it empty for future use - for fiber, etc...)

I also ran a ton of 1-1/2" pvc conduit from basement to attic in multiple spots. I also ran a bunch of empty "vac pipe" from the telcom room to the attic for future use.

The poco had already ran underground aluminum triplex (direct burial -- NO CONDUIT) about 300' to a pad mounted xformer mounted across the street and down a few houses. It feeds 6 houses and they refused to upgrade me to a 400amp service.

When my a/c condenser units kick on, the lights dim in the house, but they claim that they are within the 110-127vac range per leg...
