I have one GC with whom it's a constant battle to be code compliant on a cost-plus custom home much less one of his specs.
And I'm going toe to toe with the owner of a campground who is building a 20 rm. motel,and insists because there,s no building inspections here that she shouldn't spend the money for smoke alarms,exit/emergency lights etc.
I truly wish Harold or John could AHJ here for one month.Of course it would probably take both,and they'ed have to carry mace. I,d take 30 days off and ride with them just for the satisfaction of seeing the look on peoples faces when they had to rip out half the wiring in the house and (GASP) pay an EC to do the job.
