I played with one of those and I like them for remote monitoring. I'm not sure how secure they are. You have to open up your firewall.
I was wondering about the
Lutron Caseta. The one I have wouldn't control a contactor because it has a ramped on and off. Maybe they have something like it that is a straight switch, or you might be able to put a voltage relay between the controlled power and the contactor. The Caseta is controlled by a phone and can be programmed for times.
