RNC or RMC is about all I see in concrete unless they go with smurf. Metal seems to fail right at the top of the pour where it comes out. There are 2 schools of thought. Some say it is a chemical thing where the metal reacts with the concrete where they come together in air. The other thought is simpler. They assume that is just where water pools.
