The International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) with its headquarters located in Richardson Texas, which is in the north Dallas metropolitan area, is seeking a qualified person for the position of Codes and Standards Coordinator. IAEI is a not-for-profit professional organization devoted to the electrical industry with the intent to promote the safe use of electricity. The Education Department is responsible for the development of technical document content (text and graphics), development of technical articles for the IAEI News magazine, and review of material submitted to IAEI for use in the IAEI News and other publications. The department is also responsible for development of training programs for the electrical inspector and the industry and coordination of training program and seminars schedules.



The Codes and Standards Coordinator will report to the Director of Education, Codes and Standards and is responsible for:

Coordinating the department’s seminars, activities, and projects.
Assisting in producing and/or updating IAEI training material.
Assisting in composing, reviewing, and the technical editing of articles and material for the IAEI News as well as other IAEI publications.
Representing the International Office at Section/Chapter/Division meetings as needed.
Serving as an IAEI instructor and/or speaking at training forums and seminars as needed.


Experience in the electrical industry as an electrical inspector, electrician, instructor/teacher, and public speaking is essential. Good public relation skills are required for the high amount of public contact involved with this position. Candidates are expected to possess nationally recognized electrical certification or a Master Electrician License. A minimum of ten (10) years of industry knowledge, skills, and abilities is required with a minimum of ten (10) years as an electrical inspector and electrician is preferred.
