How would someone take a Code Exam, without using the Code Book?
That would be a heck of a lot of information to memorize.
I thought the main purpose of the Code Exam is to verify the Examee can accurately navigate the Code Book, not how much Short-Term Memory Capacity the Examee possesses or lacks!
Maybe I am missing something here - sure looks that way!
I would understand not allowing the use of textbooks / manuals for the Theory questions on the Exam - those wouldn't be in the NEC.
The Examee needs to know the basic formulas, and the Mathematics to apply with the formulas.
What State are you taking the Exam in?
I am not flaming the OP, just kind of baffled.
