Correction- my typo; “Later machines went into the Mw range” , should have read “5Mw range” of course. They were already at 2.5Mw by 1922.

1942; Westinghouse. Incredible pic., at 5.44 Mw, the biggest Rotary Converter I have yet discovered, with, unbelievably, a 2-storey workspace built into the end-cap, with two doors, guys working on both floors and complete with windows! cool
