I can relate...
Our local building inspector was a forestry major in college. Likes to have staples every couple feet and smoke detectors everywhere... other than that, and he'll pass anything.
A FHA inspector didn't like a ground-up receptacle in a kitchen. He didn't notice that it wasn't on GFCI.
Our PoCo has started a good thing with legitimate electrical inspectors. Although I've complained some in posts here about the painful transition, I think it is a very good thing.
