The area is called Sierra Cedars and chock full of Cedar. There are alot of Sugar Pine mixed in and a few Doug Fir. The shot does not show it very well but there are hundreds of houses just inside the tree line. This area recieved 5' snow one day and that night 8" of rain and the day after this photo another 4' of snow. The weight of all that snow then snapped the cedars like matchsticks. Inthe fore ground is the cross arm of a utility pole. Almost every secondary drop, riser and service were torn from the houses. An electricians dream come true.
In one case one residents brand new Dodge 1 ton had three different trees fall on it and you could not even tell it was there.
