OK,
So I went and saw my ex-Boss yesterday and tried to convey the predicament that this young fella is in.
What an absolute waste of my time, petrol and breath.
I tried to get the Log-Book back off of the company, I may get that.
As far as a reference goes, he can get one, but it won't be that nice.
I rang the apprentice last night and told him of the news.
Although neither of us were surprised at the outcome, I would have at least thought that the Boss would have been a bit more personable towards me, as I have always shown him loyalty over the time that I worked there.
I was after all his right hand man for a time and trained a good part of his current staff.
But Oh No, we have to put the daggers in for a start.
Upshot of this all is, I'll write the darned Reference, if it's that much of a problem.
The guy is only asking for a piece of paper that to a certain extent, the rest of his life could depend upon.
Not to sound silly here,
But, to what degree should a falling out with an employer have, after you've done your time?.
Sure, theft as a servant and the like aside.
