Not enough information to make an accurate bid. I.e. Does the client/customer want decora or toggle. Dimmers, fan controll switches, etc. etc. Just to name a few. Telephone's cat3 or 5 wiring? In wall jacks? etc. etc.
You're asking for a heap o'trouble if you provide that house with a 200 Amp service. I am aware of two similar houses where the electrical contractor provided a 200A service and there was severe flickering on lights when motor loads kicked in. Even if the load calcs say 200A is adequate (and I'd really like to see those calcs of you're willing to share them), a 400A lateral from the utility will provide much better voltage support and reduce flickering.
Keep in mind that the owners of a 5,000+ SF house aren't going to tolerate pronounced flicker when the AC conpressor comes on...
Also, I didn't see a subpanel in the bid, or a telephone/CATV distribution panel. Seems odd to me to NOT include a subpanel is a house that large. And the distribution panel seems essential to me--won't the place have 20+ phone jacks and almost as many CATV outlets? How about a LAN patch panel?
Did you do the electrical design for this job, or are you bidding the usual inadequate architect's electrical design page of the print? If the latter, if you get the job, you may well be the fall guy when the homeowner finds out that thay got a tract-home quality electrical system in their 5,000 SF house.
Gonna have to go with amp-man on that one. As a rule of thumb, 3000 under roof (2500 heated) is about as far as I would try to stretch a 200A service. It would not be a good idea for a house of this size unless all appliances are gas and A/C is geo-thermal. And it does look a little slim on the low voltage side too. I trimmed out a 2500 sqft house today that had 13 phone outlets (Cat5) and 7 coax outlets. Not enough info to give an exact bid but would shoot from the hip and say $10K to $11K with 400 service with discos. No light fixtures included.
The 5,385 sq ft is under roof, the livable sq ft is 3,610.
The load calcs. are: -Dwelling area in sq ft- 3610x3watts per sq ft= 10,830 -Laundry circuit, each at 1500 watts= 1,500 -2 or more small appliance circuits each at 1,500 watts.= 3,000 -Range at name plate rating= 12,000 -Dryer(use 5000 or name plate rating if larger)=5,000 -Dishwasher=750 -Garbage disposal=750 -Water heater=4,500 -Cooling, unit FLA + 25% of larger motor 440-33=10,063
-Total watts less Cool/Heat=38,330 -1st 10,000 watts at 100%=10,000 -Remainder at 40% Total-10,000 x .40=11,332 -(item 11 Heating) Use Larger=10,063 -(Item 12 Cooling) Total Watts 10,000 + 40% + 10,063=31,395
Watts 31,395 / 240Volts= 130.81amps
It does not seem like the architect provided for the two washers and two dryers and two refrigerators and two AC Units in the Load Calculations?
