Are these traffic control enclosures too small for the equipment within them?

I would like to hear what Tom Baker will have to say.

Joe,

Tom's on Vacation with limited access to the net but sent me this email:

I am on vacation, at a little libary in White Salmon Wash checking email.
Its a question of working clearance. I've done a lot of installations simialar to this, but not with a traffic signal cabinet. The cabinets I use are not as deep, usually only 12 or 8 inches. But if the front edge of the cabnet was not more than 6" and the width was 30" it would be OK. It looks like the width may not be 30"

Got to go only have one hour on line.

I wonder how much heat builds up inside the enclosure.

Here is a site that offers air-conditioned enclosures.

Is the inside of the pictured enclosure considered a wet location? Does that have any bearing on what equipment may be installed inside?

Overheating? two observations:

1) To the left of the light switch it looks like a thermostat. The hood looks like a louver. There could be a fan up there.

2) This doesn't look like an electronics enclosure. That is probably in the cabinet to the left. This looks to just be primary power distribution. Probaly doesn't generate much heat.
