80% of the 5s, times 1.73 of the fill of the 4s....

Heck, who knows?

Yet another example of how some people will expend so much effort to do something wrong.

Could this be a new version of Double-Insulated equipment?.

The proper box fill for this contraption is ... take the handle end of the hammer and press on the wires; if you can get the face plate on it's correct.

Would you consider it to be unsafe?
(If it had a cover plate)

This one is unsafe due to possibly chafing the conductors. (no bushings in KOs)

Which box would the cover go on?.

I don't understand why anyone would do this?? I'm sure I'm missing something.

I will have to photograph the "twins" on the other side of the bldg.that has the wallplates,I wondered how the receptacals were fastened in place,until I saw the one that was posted,it still has no plate on it.

Maybe it was a Sunday in a town with blue laws (no stores open) and a DIYer got creative with what he had on hand.....

None of the ones near me carry them, although they've got some 1 gang mud rings.

Maybe that's it?
