Foe, to me, the question is why were thay wired to '05 NEC when it's known to not yet be in force? We're just coming up (Oct 1) on two years of using the '99 NEC here in Va.
They way things go around here, it'll be years before we change again. Right now, for example, we only have to place bedroom receptacles on AFCI's, not all bedroom outlets.
If a code is a min/max that limits the inspectors to enforcing the code as adopted and deprives the AHJ of the ability to adopt local amendments. A min/max code has no affect of the installer building to a higher standard. -- Tom Horne

Hehe. You are all asking me the question that I am still asking myself... "Why are they wiring in 05 standard when we haven't adopted the code yet". It actually is hurting our business, cause lets see... AFCI breakers are ohhh, 40 bucks!.
Kind of expensive when you go from 2-3 AFCI's per house to 9-10 AFCI per house.
