A student who opened the neutral of a 3 phase, 4 wire circuit feeding electric discharge lighting fixtures was hurt bad.

the neutral can be our most dangerous enemy. she is silent, but, she packs a serious bite. The first thing a new helper should learn are the potental dangers of a neutral.

Pip, I am sure you don't mean for the new helpers to learn the way the one in Joe's post learned. Just kidding. How many elctricians who survived a hot neutral realize how lucky they are? There really needs to be more concentration on electrical safety using OHMs law numbers to get the point accross before someone gets stung.
