They ran a bare bonding wire through the central vac system in the computer room that had the big laser printers here in Ft Myers thinking that was why we told them not use it for toner and beads. The other problem is toner will go through anything but the best HEPA filters so the vacuum clogged and burned up within a month. I don't know if it really solved the static problem. I always used our HEPA vacuum or the built in vac system on the laser.

Similar thing happened to me just sucking up a rubber carpet underpad that turned to "dust"... The vacuum canister was building up enough of a charge to throw an occasional arc 1 1/2"- 2" between the vacuum's metal handle and the freezer door of which it was parked beside.. I have NEVER seen anything as bizarre as that before..
A small "cheater" between the metal canister of the vac and a nearby device box took care of things until I was finished vacuuming.
